ABOUT
Cantus Obliquus means 'contrary singing'. It was founded in 1986 and is the oldest mixed gay choir in the Netherlands.
Cantus Obliquus, which in its first years mainly wanted to sing shocking and critical texts, has developed into a choir with a broad artistic repertoire, in which our love for singing and for each other remained central. Classical seriousness is alternated with popular cheerfulness and a touch of melancholy. Our repertoire is diverse: from classical music, via close harmony and musical to pop.

Cantus Obliquus does not only offer joyful singing, but a warm place and anchor point in the week as well.
Since 2022 Nancy Meijer is our inspiring leading conductor.
mostly rock/pop/musicals, some classical
