About LEGATO

LEGATO is the European network for LGBTQ+ choirs and music groups.

We bring people together through song — celebrating LGBTQ+ diversity, building community, and using music to promote equality and connection across Europe.

What we do

LEGATO brings together 140+ choirs, orchestras, and music groups from 24 countries, representing more than 5,500 singers and musicians.

We help new LGBTQ+ choirs to form and support existing choirs through networking and sharing learnings, resources and training, collaboration and partnerships..

We also host major events like Various Voices, Europe’s festival of LGBTQ+ choirs, and the annual LEGATO Academy, where choir leaders and singers come together to learn, share, and grow.

Together celebrate creativity, and support one another to build a stronger, more connected choral community.

Our Projects

LEGATO leads and supports a range of projects to connect European LGBTQ+ choirs, promote artistic ambition, share skills and grow our community.

We are grateful and excited to welcome a diverse group of individuals to the board, each bringing unique talents, expertise, and perspectives that will strengthen our work and advance the association’s mission.
