The peculiarity of the "4th European Gay Choir Festival" 1988 in Berlin was that two lesbian choirs participated here: "Sappho and the Heartbreakers" and the "Neue Berliner Damenchor" as the absolute audience favorites.

Berlin's cultural senator had taken over the patronage, and the very beautiful festival took place in the Congress Hall in the Tiergarten Berlin.
