Songs of Transcendence: Histories of Becoming
We're returning to Milton Court Concert Hall to perform 'Songs of Transcendence: Histories of Becoming' and we would like to invite you to join us there to celebrate trans joy!
Incredible life-stories of trans people throughout history - including the Chevalier d’Eon pictured above - will be told by narrators, Mary Malone (Missing You; Doctor Who) and Robyn Holdaway (Sex Education) and we'll showcase music by six contemporary trans and non-binary composers, giving the world's first live performance of The Hour and The Clime by Australian composer Jamie Moffatt, and the European premieres of Hope is the thing with feathers and Give orange me by American composers Pax Ressler and Courage Barda. Barda's piece is also the first of their works to be performed outside of the United States.
This project, which has been curated by trans and non-binary members of the choir, means a lot to us, and we hope you'll find it as inspiring and celebratory as we do. Tickets are on sale now from the Barbican - book yours here
We would be really grateful if you can share the details of the concert with your friends, family, colleagues and networks.
