Pride Concert

This year’s “Rainbow Concert” by the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra for Munich Pride / Christopher Street Day (CSD) will take place in the Old City Hall. As part of the partnership with the Munich Rainbow Foundation, the Rainbow Sound Orchestra Munich (RSO-M) and an ensemble from the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra will perform.

The “Rainbow Concert” is one of the highlights of Christopher Street Day’s Pride Week. In the first part, Mary Ellen Kitchens and Alexander Strauch will conduct the RSOM in works by María Luisa de Borbón, Christian Cannabich, Louise Farrenc, Marguerite Monnot, Ruth Crawford Seeger, Alexander Strauch, and Leon Zmelty. As a special treat, the audience can look forward to Florence Price’s Rainbow Waltz, specifically the world premiere of Alexander Strauch’s orchestral arrangement. In the second part, an ensemble from the Munich Philharmonic will add the finishing touch to the diverse program with exciting works.
