Façade
WHAT DO WE CHOOSE TO SHOW THE WORLD, AND WHAT DO WE KEEP HIDDEN?
This July, Actually Gay Men’s Chorus invites you to Façade, a new show exploring identity in all its complexity. Inspired by the tension found in stories like Jekyll and Hyde, it looks at the versions of ourselves we present, the ones we hold back, and the parts we are still figuring out.
For many in the LGBTQ+ community, this tension is not abstract. It is lived. Façade reflects that experience, while also opening up a wider conversation about identity and self-acceptance that will feel familiar to everyone.
Across two evenings, the chorus will take you on a journey through a wide range of music, bringing together different styles and eras in a programme that shifts between humour, reflection and more powerful, intimate moments. These are songs that reveal as much as they conceal, and that stay with you long after the final note.
