  • Mannenakkord Eindhoven, Netherlands

Welcome new member choir Type: TTBB Members: 20 Founded: 2016 Mannenakkord is an Eindhoven gay (gay/bi) male choir that was founded on March 16, 2016. The choir currently consists of approximately 20 men and has a broad repertoire. In addition to well-known songs, Men's Chord also sings songs that have been written especially for the choir. Several times a year the choir works towards a new performance. Due to a playful choreography, a performance by Men Agreement is not a static event, but a true viewing and listening spectacle. Mannenakkord has the ambition to grow! So if you have a musical feeling, we invite you to come and watch and listen at a rehearsal without obligation. If you decide to become a member, our professional conductor will teach you how to sing (together). • nordakkord 2022 – Queer choirs for democracy, diversity and equality

14 days charity offer: 50% of each ticket goes to Ukraine. On the last weekend in May (26.-29.5.), »Da Capo al dente« hosts »nordakkord 2022«, the biggest queer choir festival in Northern Germany, in Bremen. More than 500 queer singers and musicians will join for three days of celebrating and rejoicing. 20 choirs will fill the Metropol-Theater on three consecutive nights with a program ranging from glamorous show to delicate tunes, from classic to pop, ending in a wonderful party for all on Saturday night. Please find details on the program and the participating choirs here: www.nordakkord.de Celebrating in times of war in Europe? Together with the whole community, we as organizers of »nordakkord 2022« are shocked and appalled about the war in Ukraine that was started some weeks ago by a homophobic autocrat. In our thoughts, we stand side by side with »Qwerty Queer«, »Dorothy’s Friends«, »Voice Is My Life«, and »Midnight Descant« – to name but a few queer choirs in Ukraine -, but we also reach out to all queers in Russia who are equally affected. For all of them, we stand up for democracy, diversity, and living together in peace! To support those who have to flee or decide to stay in their home towns despite the difficult circumstances, we will donate 50% of each ticket sold between April, 10 and 24, 2022 to the »Aktionsbündnis gegen Homophobie e.V. – Queere Nothilfe Ukraine«, a broad alliance of queer groups helping the war-affected queers in Ukraine. Tickets for »nordakkord 2022« are available via the Metropol-Theater Bremen or at Nordwestticket stating "nordakkord". • Germany-wide Rainbow music project for Pride 2021 - play along!

Tanja Vorstandsvorsitzende RSC e.V. English Version Hello dear musicians, colleagues, friends! We greet you warmly from Cologne and many associated cities and regions! At a time when we in the Rainbow Symphony Cologne (RSC) are thinking about how to continue with the orchestra and making music together, we received a request from a business development bank to create a concert video for their Diversity Month in June. Since it is always motivating to have a goal to work towards, we were very happy about this initiative. Since the beginning of the Corona crisis, we have already done two video projects, so we are well prepared. Since we as the RSC do not want to stand alone for the gay and lesbian orchestra scene in Germany, we would like to expand the project and invite many musicians to produce the video together with us. That's why we call on you: Play along and show that our community stands together even in the pandemic! We would like to become ONE big (virtual) orchestra that goes online in time for our "holiday" with a jointly recorded music video. How does it work? Write an email with "I'm in" to vorstand@rainbow-symphony.de. You will then receive a link to a Google Drive folder with everything you need: There you will find sheet music and audio samples for the two pieces Soundtrack of the film Emma by Rachel Porter, in a "Munich Special" edition, arranged by Matthias Keller Let's get loud by Kike Santander and Gloria Estefan, sung by Jennifer Lopez, in an arrangement for symphony orchestra as well as a short recording guide. Print out the sheet music, download the audio samples to your digital device and then make your recordings by 9 May! It doesn't matter if you record only one or both pieces, or if the voice has already been recorded by someone else - every musician will be in the video! The original idea was to record at gay and lesbian places (e.g. Aidshilfe, pub, museum, etc.) - but since this cannot be done due to the short time available, we would still like to try to show meaningful, symbolic gay and lesbian places or institutions in the video. Therefore the request: if you pass by (or even enter!) such places... take a nice photo or video and also put it in the Google Drive (Places folder). We will see how we can use these shots in the editing. Important: We can't pay for the audio or visual recordings, so you automatically hand over the copyright to the RSC when you upload! We mention this here as a precautionary measure to save us all unnecessary discussions 😉 Summary - what to do now? Send a short mail to vorstand@rainbow-Symphony.de and then download, record, upload ;-) We will keep you informed about the further progress of the project and of course you will be invited to the joint premiere! We are looking forward to any kind of participation! Many greetings and have fun with the recordings! Tanja Chair of the RSC e.V.

  • Europe's LGBTQ+ premier singing festival Various Voices Bologna is moving to 2023.

The quad-annual 15th Various Voices Festival of Legato, the European Association of LGBTQ+ Choirs will be hosted in Bologna and moved from 2022 to the summer of 2023. Team Bologna is led by Komos, the LGBT Chorus of Bologna, with their partners and funders including the municipality of Bologna, along with allies and friends in Italy. The 5,000 expected participants will bring at least €2.5 million estimated income into the local economy of Emilia-Romagna, Italy during the festival. The festival is a celebration for the LGBTQ+ choirs and musicians of Europe celebrating with their friends from around the worldwide community of singers, to share, learn and enjoy the time, singing, performing, engaging in the beautiful ancient "la rossa" red city of Bologna and the people of the region of ‎‎Emilia-Romagna, the home of parma ham, balsamic vinegar, and parmesan. Five glorious warm summer days and balmy evenings of superb singing, entertainment, and a “totally fun experience”. Choirs and musical groups perform in a range of languages, styles, an eclectic crucible of European musicians and music. Nicola Mainardi, Bologna Various Voices Festival Director, said "we will be using this time to add that extra bit of Bologna sparkle, seeking even greater local support and working with our partners to rebook venues and agree on new dates in 2023. This has been a complex decision in response to the global pandemic and we need to give all time to heal and recover, to enjoy our festival safely. As details are confirmed we will share them with all our stakeholders. We will create the best Various Voices experience ever, for everyone".
