Pride & Joy is an LGBT community singing group. We enjoy singing all kinds of music including jazz, folk and songs from musicals.  We meet every Tuesday at the Miner's Institute at the bottom of Westgate Rd, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 1SE (the front door is on the corner of Orchard St. and Westgate Rd) Women's singing is  6pm - 7pm and Men's 7pm - 8pm. We also work on songs that bring both groups together.

Our Musical Director, Liz Milner MA BA (Hons) graduated from the University of Newcastle with the David Barlow Award for Outstanding Finalist and subsequently completed a Masters Degree in Early Music at York University. She began working at Stagecoach in 2000 and has worked with numerous choirs across the region both as musical director and accompanist. Over the past few years Liz has been working in Glasgow with the ‘RSNO’s Junior Chorus’, the ‘National Youth Choir of Scotland’ and Glasgow Stagecoach. She is delighted to have moved back to Newcastle in summer 2013 and we are delighted to have her as our teacher.

There are no scary auditions. We're a friendly bunch who welcome newcomers. If you enjoy music and are interested in singing in a group, get in contact with us or just come along to give it a try.
