Welcome to Legato: new member choirs in 2016 (part 2)

We warmly welcome the following new member choirs to Legato. We are now 114 choirs in 18 countries with more than 3,700 singers. We are especially excited about the membership of choirs from two eastern Europe countries as their first representatives: Poland and Czech Republic.

Voces LGTB de Madrid

VOCES LGBT Madrid - The LGBT choir of Madrid. We sing to make visible the natural difference of persons, helping the integration and acceptance of all options-sex affection through artistic expression, music and specifically in training coral

We are a mixed choir from bass to soprano, from old to tenor with singers of all orientations. Our repertoire goes from Purcell to Zara Leander, from musicals to the comedian harmonists.

The Male choir Doodles is the only gay choir in the Czech Republic. The choir was founded in September 2011 in Prague. Due to a wide focus conductors Foltýnka Thomas and Mark Stanky from Doodles can hear a wide variety of genres ranging from Renaissance music and folk songs, through renowned works of classical male choral works of the 19th and 20th centuries, an opera or operetta to the spiritual, musical, famous melodies Beatles or pop from the 80s and 90s. The choir sings both a cappella and with accompaniment, some songs, a well choreographed.

Since its inception Doodles grown almost doubled, and currently counts 30 singers. Doodles in their ranks pleased to welcome another enthusiast, comes the idea of ​​Czech gay choir as interesting and who wish to participate on the elimination of prejudice and spread of mutual respect through music. This offer applies not only singers, but other musical and non-musical oriented artists.

Doodles are busily engaged in broad family of LGBT choirs in Europe. After a joint appearance with the London Gay Men's Chorus in 2015 on the new stage of Prague's National Theatre, the choir was 2016 in Paris for the gay & lesbian choir Podium Paris. Besides already looking to 2018, when Munich is a big festival LGBT choirs "Various Voices".

Rainbow Symphony Cologne

Cologne is Germany’s fourth largest city and home to one of the largest and most visible gay communities in the world. Founded in 2007, Rainbow Symphony Cologne is the city’s first LGBT symphonic orchestra. Through our music, we speak out against discrimination of all kinds. We are especially committed to promoting equal rights and acceptance of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people. Musicians from all over Germany as well as many other countries including Switzerland, Belgium, France and the USA meet converge in Cologne twice each year for a weekend of rehearsal culminating in a concert performance.
