Armistice Day at Hampton Court Palace
- Armistice Day at Hampton Court Palace
- Sun, 11. November 2018, 13:00 h
- Chapel Royal at Hampton Court Palace - London
- The Fourth Choir
The Fourth Choir’s autumn concert will commemorate the centenary of the end of WW1 with a memorial concert entitled “Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night”. This will be a concert of contemplative music marking the immense loss of life during the war and the central work will be Herbert Howells’ serene and sublimely beautiful Requiem for unaccompanied voices.
We will be performing this concert twice, on October 27 and on Armistice Day itself, November 11, in two different - but equally historic - venues.
The Choir also feels very privileged to have been invited to sing in the Chapel Royal at Hampton Court Palace on Armistice Day itself. Due to time pressures, this will be a shorter programme than the one we will give at the Tower and it is only open to visitors who have bought tickets to tour the Palace that day. If you wish to tour Hampton Court, buy your tickets directly from the Palace and make sure that you secure your place in the Chapel by 12.45pm at the latest as it is not possible to reserve seats for the concert.
